Description

PATTIRO is a research and advocacy organization that was established on April 17, 1999. It has been working in more than 17 provinces and 70 regencies or cities in Indonesia. PATTIRO has been focusing its attention on local governance issues, specifically in decentralization issues. The three focus areas that become the main work of PATTIRO are transparency, public services accountability, and public finance management reform. PATTIRO tries to encourage the realization of good, transparent, and equitable governance in order to create social justice for all Indonesian people. Besides actively conducting research, PATTIRO also provides technical assistance to the government, assisting communities and CSOs in advocating for policy reform and improvement of public services, transparency, and public finances. Because of its hard work, PATTIRO gained an award from the University Pennsylvania, United States of America as one of the best think tanks in the field of transparency and good governance
