CAFOD is the official Catholic aid agency for England and Wales. We work with partners in more than 40 countries across the world to bring hope, compassion and solidarity to poor communities, standing side by side with them to end poverty and injustice. We work with people of all faiths and none. We work with more than 500 partners overseas, and with partners in the UK - all working to reduce poverty. Inspired by Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching and the experiences and hopes of people living in poverty, CAFOD works for a safe, sustainable and peaceful world.

Organisations / agencies covered

Our published IATI data will cover all approved grants made to CAFOD’s partners (“Participating Organisations”) together with all internal approvals made to CAFOD’s international offices. This covers 100% of the development flows to organisations and agencies, although the actual coverage will be less than this figure due to the defined exclusions.

Timeliness of Data

Data will be published on at least a quarterly basis and will include the defined data related to all approved Activities.

Frequency of publication

Frequency of publication (extra comments)

IAITI data will be refreshed on at least a quarterly basis and will include the defined data related to all approved Activities.

Units of Aid

In CAFOD’s grant management system, a project is a grant or series of grants made to a single partner organisation with the aim of achieving an agreed set of outcomes. In terms of the IATI terminology, each of these projects, which must be formally approved and authorised before any payments can be made, are considered to be an “Activity”.

Segmentation of Published Data

A single file, encoded as per the IATI data specification, will be produced for each country in which CAFOD provides grants to partners. Regional files will also be produced where the grant relates to a regional project.

Nor will we disclose information if it may have a negative impact on the communities that we serve.

There will be no thresholds placed on the financial value of Activity related data being published. There will not be aggregation of grants or payments on a quarterly basis.
